Michele Cooper was found at the roadside with a head injury, having fallen from her bicycle, and was taken to Cheltenham General Hospital. She was discharged the following morning following tests including a CT scan, but collapsed and passed away later that day from a swelling on the brain. The police investigation found no evidence of involvement of another party in the incident, and since coroner Katy Skerrett was unable to determine whether the fall had been caused by an accident or medical causes she recorded a narrative verdict.
