Gemma Hinds was found in a car park on the morning of 18 January 2016 after having been reported missing the previous day, during which time temperatures had reached -4°C. She was unconscious and hypothermic when she was found, and attempts to resuscitate her failed.
Coroner Oliver Longstaff concluded that Gemma had taken a short cut home across a grassy embankment and had fallen from her bike in the icy conditions, being knocked unconscious in the fall. He recorded a verdict of accidental death.
