An inquest held in September 2015 heard that Nina Deasley was riding an unlit bicycle and was under the influence of drink and drugs when she crossed a toucan crossing on the under-construction Bourges Boulevard: blood tests showed that she was a little over double the drink-driving limit and that she had a high amount of heroin and traces of cocaine in her system. She emerged from the central reservation in front of a taxi being driven at 17mph through a green light at the time of the impact.
Coroner David Heming recorded a verdict of death by road traffic collision.
