Jonathan Highfield was killed in a collision with a Nissan Micra driven by Thomas Boyd.
Boyd was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but was reportedly later released without charge. However, he pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving and in July 2017 was sentenced to a one year driving ban and 240 hours’ unpaid work. The name of the judge is not reported.
An inquest was opened and adjourned; no further information has been found.
