Jason Gibbs was involved in a collision with a car, after which he rode home and went to bed. Around four hours after the collision he suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to hospital in a critical condition having suffered trauma to his spleen. He passed away in hospital two days later.
The details of the collision itself are unclear: the location is known only to be somewhere between Gorton and Moss Side, the time is given as between 1:10pm and 1:50 pm and it is not known whether the car involved was moving or stationary.
