Karen Cowper died in hospital two days after a collision on the A509 between Wellingborough and Wollaston.
An inquest held in February 2017 heard that Ronald Brain had been driving south at around 50mph when he “saw what [he] first thought was a child on a pushbike at the entrance of [Abbey Farm]” to his left. As he neared the entrance, Karen Cowper emerged into the carriageway. Both he and the lorry driver behind him stated that although he swerved and braked the collision was unavoidable.
Coroner Anne Pember recorded a verdict of accidental death.
