Kit Pentlow died in a collision with an HGV on a roundabout in Banbury. An inquest heard that traces of cocaine, heroin, cannabis and diazepam were found in his system and that he was “playing on his mobile phone” while riding. Witnesses reported seeing Kit pass in front of an HGV from its nearside to its offside while it was stopped out the roundabout; the driver, Wayne Gilbert, had overtaken Kit shortly beforehand. Coroner Darren Salter recorded a verdict of death by road traffic collision.
