Gavin Moore was killed when a group of cyclists were struck from behind by a 58 year old man driving a Hyundai on the A21 in County Down, shortly before the road’s speed limit reduces to 40mph at Conlig. The driver was arrested at the scene and was held in custody. Images of the car show extensive damage to the bonnet and windscreen, indicative of a high speed impact.
Two other cyclists, Gareth Boyle, Keith Freel, were both seriously injured whilst the fourth rider in the group, Rachy Sinnamon, was ininjured.
